Tatami Floral
The flower laid down thread by thread, until the cloth appears to bloom.
02 — The Story
03 — Macro Study
Read as museum plates — the stitch at the scale of the hand that made it.
Plate i — Thread Direction & Density
Every float runs the same imagined curve as the petal it fills, packed edge to edge until no ground shows between them. The direction never wavers, and it is what gives the bloom its sense of growth.
Plate ii — Surface, Layering & Light
Layered close enough to catch light in a single unbroken sheen, the surface reads as one continuous petal rather than a thousand separate stitches. Density is what turns thread into form.
04 — Crafted Into
Where this technique lives in the collection.
Every petal is a patience made visible.
