Colour built from parallel lines alone — the ground left to breathe.

02 — The Story

Linefill builds colour entirely from parallel lines of running stitch, with no solid mass.

There is only rhythm — the ground goes on breathing through the motif, and the eye mixes the lines into tone at a distance. The evenness of spacing is everything; lines that drift betray the hand, and the effect collapses into ordinary hatching.

Held true, it is luminous.

03 — Macro Study

Read as museum plates — the stitch at the scale of the hand that made it.

Plate i — Thread Direction & Density

Colour is built entirely from parallel running stitches, each line laid a fixed distance from the last so no solid fill ever forms.

Plate ii — Surface, Layering & Light

Because the ground shows through between every line, the surface keeps breathing, and light passes through the motif instead of stopping at it.
